Hi!
I have been offered a teaching position by Amarifa International School school. I checked out it's website but found very limited information and just pop-up paragraphs. Some guy named Ross is the contact but no title or last name...........mnnnn strange This seems suspect to me. The salary seems too low at 7000dhs/mth seeing I have 10yrs. experience plus an MEd. Anyone ever work for this school in Sharjah. |

I searched for their website and only came up with your posting here. Can you provide a link?
What is your area? If it's Med in ESL/FL you should expect double and a bit more and start looking into tertiary education with a Masters in Ed. |

bluemoray, that MEd includes a teaching qualification or no? That's still too low for the UAE given those credentials. As for its international status, any school can say they're international. With that salary, I suspect they're running on a tight budget. Steer cleer.
If you're looking for a k-12 position, you'd want at least 10,000. If you've got a teaching qualification w/ that MEd plus ten yrs exp, you should be on much, much more. This varies from school to school by Dubain English Speaking School/College start their newly qualified teachers off around 10,000. I hope that provides a frame of reference. They would be a very good group to work for.
If you've only got the MEd and no qualification plus all that experiece you are still looking at over 10,000. It depends on which schools you apply to, how relevant the exp you have is to the position, and in some cases, whether or not you have the teaching certificate. |
