I'm currently teaching on a one year contract here in western China, and I've started to see how the non-contract work is really superior to the work I'm tied down to. While looking on this forum, it seems like things may be quite similar in Japan, but of course there is this the problem of getting into the country on an instructor visa.
What I really want to do is work for the company that sponsors my visa for a shorter contract period and then investigate my options. Westgate seems to be a fairly good choice for this and I'm wondering if anyone has heard of any other companies that might be a good option in this regard. |

AFAIK Westgate is the only one.
I would say that a year is the minimum time it would take to get any outside work lined up, and stabilized to the point that it is worth your while. |
