Can someone tell me if Eikaiwa's make you take a drug test before you start teaching? Specifically Peppy kids club.

Drug tests are illegal. They cannot require one. They can ask, and you can say no.

Health tests, on the other hand, are not illegal and they can require them if your job involves contact with the public. You cannot refuse them in theory, but they can't fire you if you do, so it's a totally toothless requirement. Even if you do agree to the health tests they can't slip a drug test in there.

Japanese law is interesting in that way. Enjoy.
