Hi out there.
I'm currently awaiting visa processing, (could take another 3 years!) but exploring ways to get to Canada quicker. Temp. Workers Permit, or Provincial Nom. Programmes, don't seem to apply to teaching. Just wondering if there is anyone out there with any advice on best steps to take. Anybody gone this route...Uk to Canada? Alberta/BC are the two provinces I'm interested in. |

I don't know if this would help, but a friend in Alberta suggested to me that there are companies willing to sponsor work visas. Don't know if this applies to teaching but you might have some luck contacting employers directly. |

I can speak to some extent for the TESL job market in Calgary - full-time jobs with benefits are very rare, and temp/part-time jobs certainly won't sponsor a working visa.
While there may be companies sponsoring visas (my spouse is here as an air traffic controller, sponsored by NAVCanada, for example), it's for positions that lack qualified local applicants -
this won't apply to TEFL. Lots of teachers around. |
