Hi all
Has anyone ever worked with either of the above language schools? Intercultura seems to havea school where your teaching is based. However Idioma Internacional is based in San Jose and and sends most of its teachers out to meet professional clients in their place of work and identifies their teachers as corporate trainers.
Has anyone had any experience with these two? If so I would appreciate any information. The benefit of the Idioma Internacional is that they offer a year work visa which I you believe other schools and forums it is impossible to obtain.
Thanks in advance

Idioma Internacional is very serious and pretty hardcore. Hires Americans exclusively - well, almost exclusively. I think Brian Logan is the name of the guy running it. Very efficient and, well, corporate-y. Pays well and they supposedly treat their employees good, but I don't really have anything tangible to back that statement up. It's just somewhere in my memory.
Intercultura I've heard a lot about and nothing negative, though I think their pay is pretty horrendous. They give a ton of stuff to make that up though; dancing classes, Spanish classes etc. |

I worked for Idioma for a year in 2003-04, and have almost nothing but happy memories. The only upside at Intercultura is having all your classes in one place. At Idioma the pay is quite a bit better, and in Dollars (much more inflation proof) so you can afford all the things that Intercultura offers and more. If you have any questions feel free to write.

Both prefer some kind of certification, but it isn't obligatory. Some experience teaching ESL is a must however. |

I worked at Intercultura for about 2 years. I came back to the states last June. It is a great place to work. The staff is friendly and the social scene is great. Someone said the pay was horrendous but I didn't think so and I don't think my co-workers did either. If you have any questions feel free to message me.
Good luck,
