Hi guys

Other half has just secured herself a position at Renaissance commencing August 2008. Looking to move out end of July. Great package and accomodation included.

So some advice please.... I am looking at doing my CELTA - ILA looks a good place to start. Also I have no degree, will this be a problem?

I work in the Electricity field but doubt I can find work in this field.

Also what sort of Visa could I get with/without a CELTA and working.

I have no degree, thanks, will be here a lot!!

Ed

Hey mate just a quick one as its a bit late but I dont know much about ILA, but I can tell you it might be cheaper to do it there than do it in the UK. Heres the Cambridge website which has a list of places you can take the course in the UK if you wanted to shop here, http://www.cambridgeesol.org/index.html

I have a colleague at work who doesnt have a degree but has the CELTA but the best thing is to contact ILA and see what they have to offer. Bear in mind though that when you apply for the CELTA, normally on the day of the interview for the course you will have to do a language awareness test which is a grammar test. If you want a grammar book, Jeremy Harmers' ''English Grammar in Use'' is a good place to start.
Good luck!

cheers mate, have ordered that book and a couple of others. The reason I plan on doing the course in HCM is because I think with me not having a degree I could with the contacts. The moneys not really an issue, other half is paid 2000 a month after tax and free accomodation. No committments elsewhere:)

How did your colleague find not having a degree - was it a problem with work and does he get paid much less?

Cheers

Ed
