1) do NOT change your U.S. dollars into Costa Rican colones at the airport -- you lose almost 10% -- a big rippoff
2) if you choose to take a taxi to San Jose proper it costs $18.00 (Nov.07) and you can pay in $$ -- otherwise you can catch a bus nearby for a buck or two
3) if you leave CR from the airport you MUST pay an airport tax of US$26.00 or equiv. colones (Nov.07) -- no pay no leave! |
