Hello all, hope you can give me some assistance on this one?
I will be moving to the UAE, sometime in July to take up a DJ residency, now my girlfriend (soon to be wife) is going to be coming with me.
She has an MA in Applied linguistics (recently obtained at University of Silesia, Poland)
B.A diploma in British and American Culture. She is a fully Qualified teacher with Tefl and around 5 years exp of teaching English as a second launguage. She is also keen to undertake a PHD whilst in the UAE.
Now, she is very keen to get employment before she arrives and has applied at The British University, Zayed and many others, but heard nothing?
She has also applied to HCT and not made it past the Pre Screen twice?
She really is an Excellent teacher and her English is better than mine! (I am British)
Is it likely to be the fact that she is Polish that seems to be the Barrier, as she seems to more than meet the Requirements especially for HCT (I read they are extremely short of teachers)
I am very confident she will find employment once she lands (On a spouse Visa) But is extremely Frustrating for her and obviously Local hire does not bring as many benefits, (Flights, Acccom and the like)
Any pointers would be extremely helpfull!
I Apologise for my use of the English language! This is why i'm a DJ, not a Teacher!!! |

Being Polish is not a problem, I can think of several Polish teachers at HCT and two of them at least are English language teachers. However, lack of post-MA experience might be. Also, things take time in this part of the world! |
