Hi, I have been browsing these forums for awhile now and they have been amazing. But I just have one question, what would the odds be for a native speaking English (Canadian) individual with no teaching background but only a CELTA/TEFL certificate to get work in Poland. I would just need to make enough money to live independently. I speak both Polish and English but sadly I did not get my degree from college/university either. Sorry if this a question that has been asked many times before.

Thanks for the help in advance

A degree isn't a legal qualification for working in Poland.

You should be competitive in the private language school market, and the fact that you speak Polish but are a native English-speaking Canadian probably gives you a bit of an edge.

mgafunnell, you don't say when you 'worked' without a visa in Poland, but any newbies reading through this should be aware that the visa laws have recently changed in all of the new schengen zone countries, including Poland.

This means that, if you don't get legal working papers, you are really looking at LIKELY legal problems.

It's not like the old days (a year or two ago Smile ) when you could reasonably expect to fly under the legal radar indefinitely.
