We did something like this last year with cities in Turkey. This time it's just words in Turkish.

The idea is simple you have to guess the word depicted and give its translation into English.

e.g.

The answer to this one...meat

Here goes...

A)

B)

C)

Feel free to post your own picture clues...
Have fun...

Not sure who the last two were but maybe the Hitchcock one would be...hi kk? No root? Or is that phoenetically absurd?

You're right
But he was also commonly know as just "Hitch" for short
so I'll give you that one, though the answer I was looking for was "Never"

Here are some easier ones...

D)

E)

F)

G)

H)

I)

I think you're just being Yaramaz

I'm looking for the English word...so yes War is correct for the last one

as in "1,2,3,4 We don't want no bloody harp!"

Just having a bit of fun.

If you teach English in Turkey a knowledge of Turkish is not essential but useful and ultimately learning some Turkish or any other second language can help you as a teacher to empathize with the difficulties some of the students face.
In danger of moving away from an innocent game to test forum members knowledge of Turkish into a serious issue regarding education (Sorry...)

Anyway back to the picture quiz...
Any takers

Yaramaz was right on Can/Kan etc... but I want possible English meanings...

So for "can/kan" I would have accepted soul/zeal/dear..etc...
or even "tin" meaning spirit...

Get the idea?

So I guess ...Most forum member's Turkish isn't that great?!?

For 'can', I thought of blood- kan. Spellingwise, sure, it would be 'can' (the dear, soul stuff) but...

Either

A) The picture clues are too difficult.
B)Forum member's Turkish isn't that great.
C)Nobody is interested in a bit of fun
D)All of the above
E)None of these and I am not going to tell you why.

Soon, I will be forced to post the answers... just so I can hear you all groan..
"Oh I knew that one!"
"Might've known"
or somesuch expression...

For me, the pictures are a bit too obscure- I don't know some of the people in the first set, and can't really figure out what the factory and the nine might be in Turkish.

Ok here's where we stand;

A) Never (hi=Hitch(Alfred Hitchcock))
D)Ball (top)
E)Spirit/Soul/Blood etc...(Can/Kan/Tin)
I) War (harp)
All answered correctly by Yaramaz.

So here are some clues for the others;

B) She ran for president of a republic.
C)He was the president of the same republic.
F)Not a garbage can or a waste paper basket but a...?
G) Look up "nine" in a Turkish-English dictionary
H)What type of factory though?

Are they Evita/Eva and Peron? As in...Home...something (ev + a/ita???) and whatever they call where a bus comes in- those special parking lanes. I can't remember the word.

Beyond that, I'm lost!

Hang on, is H) Enamel?

C) Looks like Truman but I can't get a Turkish word out of that.
