For private teaching I would put the pay at anywhere from 15 to 30 euros an hour. Some manage to get 40-50, but that's rare. Negotiating is bound to occur.
What I do is I ask to get paid in "Cheques-Emploi-Service." I get paid without having to pay the social charges (though I have to pay income tax). And it's totally legal.
With CES, you can ask for 20 to 40 an hour (for example), and you get a check for this sum. Later your client will receive a letter from the government (URSSAF) asking to pay the rest in social charges. However, your client will also get a tax break for using these checks, so it's a win-win.
Not sure about all the behind-the-scenes tax stuff with CES, (just started receiving them myself), but they are great.
I might get nagged for saying this, but I'm not into under-the-table teaching. Which is why I go the CES route. |
