Tonight we took a sushi making class and it was incredible, definitely the best thing that we've done in Santiago over the last year and a half.

The best way to do it is that you go with 2 people and one person makes the sushi while the other takes notes so that you can remember everything you've learned. You only need to pay for the person actually making the sushi.

It's incredible how much you learn in the 3.5 hour class. You'll be amazed at how easy it can be to make beautiful sushi.

The class is 40,000 pesos, but this is a real bargain, because by the time you finish you've made about 20,000 pesos worth of sushi and then you can sit down at the restaurant and eat it. It's enough for two people to get stuffed beyond belief on sushi.

Don't be cheap...this is well worth setting the money aside to do.

The restaurant is called Japon Ya, and the address is Pedro de Valdivia 2153, tel. 225 1426 www.japonya.cl
