Hi, i've been in Wroclaw a month now, and i need a fair amount of stuff for the apartment i'm in. i also want to find some t-shirts to send home as well, cause the mall clothes are fairly uninteresting for gifts....
can anyone point me to a few? or all? |

regarding stuff for the apt., could you get it all at a Carre Four?
interesting T-shirts? not following. like......what kind of T-shirts? Polish themed T-shirts? I can point you to a store like that, little one on the outskirts of the Rynek if that's what you're talking about. I bought one there before I went home for Christmas. |

yes, I've been to Carrefour, but I don't want to start buying night stands and lamps there, so i thought a thrift store would be better, I guess that's what I'd do in Canada...
And by interesting t-shirts I mean Polish yes, but not a t-shirt for tourists. I thought maybe a beer label T, or something written in Polish on it. So if this store on the outskirts of Rynek has some neat stuff, point me to it please. After visiting a few malls, it seems that most of the clothes come from western designers, so there is no point in sending it to Canada, it all looks the same. Maybe it's not popular to have polish written on a t-shirt, I don't know. What I do know is that I need a birthday gift for someone and I want it to be representative of poland and light to send overseas. I've been looking and looking..... and he also likes t-shirts...
thanks for responding. |

Used Polish furniture generally isn't for sale; people will use something until it falls apart and then put it out by a dumpster for the neighborhood kids to destroy. In my town I noticed a few shops selling used furniture from the Netherlands. I asked Polish friends about stores selling used Polish furniture, and they cried they were laughing so hard. Literally. They told me it was the funniest thing they had heard in months..."used Polish furniture"
All of that said, who knows, maybe there is a shop selling non-antique furniture. Otherwise head for Ikea or another large box store. Thrift stores selling furniture as we from North America are accustomed to don't really exist here (though there are lots of places to buy clothing, especially women's clothing).
Good luck. |
