I noticed that Inlginua New Delhi are re-advertising for native english speaker teachers on TEFL.com. They interviewed me for this position in December last year (its a one year contract) and offered me the position but their HR process is absolutely terrible. I would warn all teachers to stay clear of this organisation. I am currently pursuing a complaint about them with the Inlingua Head Office in Switzerland. I am a female native english speaker with a degree, Tefl qualification and teaching experience.

When I applied for the job in December 2007, they were also looking for 4 teachers, strange that they're looking for teachers again eh? Its only February 2008 now! What happened to the ones they hired on yearly contracts in December? They were also offering 40, 000 INR per month in December 2007. In their latest advert this has now dropped to 36, 000 INR per month.

To put it in a nutshell, they offered me a job, after having taken a language test and an interview in person with the Manager in Delhi. I accepted the job verbally with the Manager and in wiritng via email to his assistant called Rani. This email was then not replied to and ignored. Rani also, depsite numerous requests from me. never sent me at any time during the whole recruitment process a copy of their standard teachers' contract. When I inquired what was happening with the job in January 2008, Rani told me they had not recieved my email accepting the job offer (even though I had verbally accepted the job at the interview with the Manager) and that they had now filled all their teaching positions! Strange that they're now looking to hire 4 teachers again then isn't it, if if the positions were all filled in February on one year contracts!?

I complained about this to the Director of Studies in February this year who investigated my complaint and admitted that it was their fault because the assistant, whose name is Rani, hadn't recieved my email accepting the job offer (which I don't believe, because if my email is not delivered I normally get it bounced back to me or an email saying it couldn't be delivered). However, he told me that I would have to be put back into the recruitment process and have another interview if I wanted to work for them.

As I said, I am now pursuing this matter with Inlingua Head Office but in the meantime I would warn teachers to steer well clear. Even if you're given a job offer in person in Delhi its still no guarantee of the job! Plus looks like they can only keep teachers working there for 2 months.
