Can anyone tell me how easy/difficult it is to send money home to my bank in Canada from Vietnam. (Gotta pay that student loan!)

I will most likely be on a business visa since I don't have a degree. Can I open a bank account and send money home okay without a work visa?

Any info is apprecaited. Thanks!

I don't think not having a degree will affect what kind of visa you can get. It's pretty easy to send money overseas if you can show the bank that you legally earned the money.

I have transferred money out of Vietnam numerous times and I believe the banking regulations are the following:

Visitors entering Vietnam are allowed to bring in US$7000 without declaring it, therefore one can transfer a maximum of US$7000 without any documentation every time they enter Vietnam. All you need is your passport and the exit/entry card. The bank will write on the card how much you have transferred. I have done this numerous times with no issues.

Should one need to transfer over US$7000, you need to have documentation from your company-copies from the tax department stating your company has paid personal income tax on the money to be transferred. I have done this numerous times with no problems.

Should your school or company not have the tax documents or is unwilling
to give them to you, it suggests that they are not paying your PIT.
