Hi guys
I have a holiday planned for Riga and Tallinn. Exclding accomodation, is a budget of $50-$60 a day enough to get me by? This would be just to grab something to eat, maybe entrance to the odd museum or gallery and a few drinks.
Im curious to know how expensive the place is.
Regards

That is a tight budget for Tallinn. Check out hostels to try and save money. The hotels will kill you. Eating and drinking here has gotten much more expensive recently, though museums tickets are pretty cheap. |

Try asking here on the travel forums

Riga that works out at 30 lats, I guess if you ate in the hostel and restricted yourself to a cheaper eaterie it would be doable. A half litre will cost you 3 dollars in the cheaper places and 5 dollars in the city centre, so I wouldn't plan any big nights out on that budget. |

Have a look here at a sample menu for one of the more popular pub chains http://www.stellapub.lv/docs/edienkarteA3-doma-en.pdf
1 lat = GBP1.13 / EURO 1.40 / $2.22. So a half litre of local beer will start at $3.50.
The Baltics ain't cheap! |
