is there such a thing for non-german speaking teachers?
I asusme we'll need a MA? PhD?
anyoen have any real experience with this?
hoesntly, my guess is anyone who actually teaches englsh at the university level in Germany woulndt be looking here

Yes, there is. Keep an eye on the German weekly newspaper "die Zeit". I've seen a few jobs advertised there and yes, you would need at least an M.A. or a Ph.D. plus a bit of experience.
I have even seen adds where they explicitly were looking for native speakers. |

I work in a university in the Netherlands. Not Germany, obviously. But it took an MA + extensive experience (10 years). And, I think the kicker is often this one: local contacts.
The openings are relatively rare.
Another thing is that some knowledge of the local language is pretty highly regarded...if you really speak no German, have no local contacts, and qualifications below at least an MA level, it's probably pretty unlikely that you'll land a contract, particularly from abroad. |

I teach at a university but it is not a "contract", it is freelance. I get 3 classes each semester and can be fired at will. It's my favorite of the 7 jobs I have... but i needed to know someone who was giving up the classes. I don't have an MA but it's all good... |
