Hi,
We are a quiet family of five (children's age 10, 8 and 6) from Australia. At present we are living in South Korea, and we are thinking of moving to Dubai and working there.
We would like to know:-
* the cost of living for a family of 5
* How much we are likely to earn
* what type/ standard of accommodation is likely to be provided
* living conditions in Dubai
* how safe is the city/country
* how easy is it to travel around UAE by car or public transport
* good/ bad points living in Dubai
My husband has a Masters degree, BA and B.Bus degrees, a TESOL certificate, has worked at university for 6 years and has 2 years teaching experience working in South Korea as an English teacher.
Cheers Helen

Without an MA in TESOL, it will be tough to find a good university job. |

The country is safe and very family-friendly.
2 years experience does sound a liitle short for most tertiary places hiring here. They usually require 3+.
About cost of living, as other posters pointed out, it does depend on your spending habits. All that can be said is that inflation is high and salaries have not quite caught up. Life used to be a lot sweeter around these parts. It still is a pretty sweet deal, especially if you're American.
Like2answer is right: schools will be problem # 1. |
