Hi

Does anyone know how I would go about getting my British degree verified for work in the UAE?

Does the CELTA usually need validating too?

Thanks

Ring DHL. They now offer a service for UK that saves you worrying about the leg work to the various agancies:
1. Notorisation.
2. Dept of Foreign Affairs
3. UAE Embassy

Unfortunately nothing like this exists for Australia.

Thanks for this. Does this all need to be done prior to commencing employment? And is it required for all certs, or just the university degree?

Have you been asked to have your degree verified? HCT and ZU ask for degree transcripts directly from universities before you sign a contract, unless the system has changed. However, if you need to have other papers notarised such a a marriage certificate, it's as well to have everything included.
I didn't include my CELTA and have never been asked about it as the important document is the terminal degree.
