What Training Class Certificate (120 hr, 4 week with practice teaching) is best for getting jobs worldwide? What about in Korea, Vietnam or Eastern Europe?

Thanks for any ideas.

My fiancee & I would both recc the TEFL International 120+hr residency-based TESOL course we took. There are 2 extra modules available, as well (sort of like extra 'endorsements' - 1 for kids, and one for business English). We did ours in Phuket almost 3 years ago. The cost was reasonable, and we gave up the 'normal' accommodations (which were fine), took a small credit, and stayed in a small hotel close to the school - it included breakfast, had a small pool (that we usually had to ourselves), and a massage/spa setup (legit, and sooooo nice).

I am also sure that you will hear a lot of people say that the other standard would be the RSA or Trinity CELTA/DELTA (I believe that is correct; someone would correct me if it is not, I hope!!!). We haven't done it yet (I will probably pick up the ICELT within this next year, though), and the people who have done it seem to have gotten a lot out of it too.

One bit of advice - besides researching all you can - is if you choose a school/program in a place where you think you would like to work (e.g. - Vietnam), then taking the course there obviously would give you a big jump on networking, interviewing, and - most impoortantly - deciding if reality is going to meet up with your expectations.

I've been out of the USA 10 years; my fiancee over 6 years; we LOVE teaching ESL & being out in the world! Best of luck, whatever you choose to do.

Regards,

Glen & Christina
