I'm interested in meeting up with people who want to pool together and somehow catch a taxi back into Dubai. I'm booked into a cheapo hotel in Nassir Square -- east of Dubai Creek.

Where can we meet? How do we find taxis way out at the conference's venue? I'm from Doha, Qatar so I'm not familar with meeting places

Can't help with taxi sharing, I'm afraid. Perhaps there'll be others waiting for a taxi at Reception who might be amenable to sharing a ride (I remember the long queues for taxis at last year's TACON).

Check out the traffic before you jump into a taxi - you could find it to be an expensive ride.

Baedaebok - your best bet is to get a share with someone who is going to BUr Dubai - NOT Deira - and then cross the creek on an Abra. After that you can walk to your hotel. It seems a lonmg way round, but the Dubai traffic has to be seen to be believed.
