I understand that to work at HCT and other places you often have to sign a statement about not working anywhere else without their permission. How common is it for these places to allow staff to work PT at other insitutes? |

Every one of my contracts in the Gulf stated that extra work was no allowed without their permission.

I can't speak for HCT, but I know that in Saudi Arabia many teachers have done outside work - usually under the "don't ask, don't tell" conditions.
But I even had my superiors at the IPA ask me to do "extra outside work", even though they knew it was in violation of the contract. |

I don't know anyone who asked, but I did private lessons very quietly in Oman. While I was at HCT, I had neither the time nor the energy... and the money was more than sufficient to afford not to...
