Ok, so it wont seem a major problem, but it is to me. Next week I'm being dragged to Budapest by the fiance, something I'm delighted about, except that I am about as Welsh as they come and half my life is rugby. Anyway next Saturday, Wales play France for the Grand Slam (European Championship) and I WANT to see it. I have contacted pubs in Budapest showing the game but they are saying I need to book a table, but when I say I want to book a table, I'm having trouble doing so, please if you know of a place tell me where I'll see it, please, please, please!!! |

have you tried Champs Sport Pub on Dohany utca? they have two locations, actually -- one in buda and one in pest (dohany). i was able to catch several NFL regular season and playoff games there...and it's generally regarded as the best sports bar in budapest. all of their staff speak English... drop them an email first and one of their managers will get back to you. http://champs.hu/
good luck, mate. |

If this isn't too late - there's also Becketts near the Nyugati train station. I was there one night when they were showing some rugby match (Wales vs. England, maybe?) and didn't have to book a table. |
