New to Japan. Going to Temple university on Saturday. (15th) Will need a good value place to stay for a night or two. Anybody got a recomendation?
Also, coming up from Osaka by Shinkansen. Roughly how long does it take to get from the station to Temple?
Might have a few hours to spare. No idea what to do?
Possibly a spare day and again no idea what to do?
Best idea for Saturday night? Keep in mind I have to be up early on Sunday.
Many thanks. |

I'd say just get out on the 'Net and search for Tamachi Station and Osaki Station areas. A quick search indicates rates are around the Y15000 mark.
Check out this ryokan and hotel list. How current it is, I don't know.

Tokyo Tourism Info has a listing for Minato Ward places of interest - http://www.tourism.metro.tokyo.jp/english/spot/minato1.html
Note that the graves of the 47 ronin are on the grounds of Sengakuji.
Yureizaka, Ghost Street, is a narrow hillside street between temples, close to the campus. It's quite picturesque.
From Tamachi Station, campus is less than a 10 minute walk.
Good luck! |

The Azubu Juban station is closer (on the Namboku and Mita subway lines, if I remember right ). As to a hotel near there, haven't a clue. Do you need to be within spitting distance of the hotel? the reason I ask is that there are a few cheap guest houses in Tokyo (about 4500 yen a night), but I don'T know if they are close to Temple. |
