Not exactly friends. He's a Baptist minister I knew fairly well memorable for the occasion when he livened up an otherwise forgettable sermon by failing to make it as far as organism in his mental lexicon. He belted out "The Church is the living orgasm of God."

I'm a good friend of Bill and Bob. We've been pretty close for coming up to 9 years now. Those guys saved my butt and I owe them a debt of gratitude the likes of which I will never be able to fully repay.
I've been teaching in SK for the last 6mths and miss regular catch- up sessions with other pals of those guys. I'm 2-3 hours bus trip away but make the journey twice a month. It's sometimes tough. ODATAT and rule 62 are applied regularly, as is trying for contact with HP. PM for a chat sometime. |

Good for you Clutch!
Bill W and I are friends. I'm also a friend of Lois W. I introduced myself to her rooms when it slowly dawned on me that as long as I stayed with my spouse, Bill and I became radically estranged. I was powerless over her stuff too. Surprise, surprise. They say that makes me a double winner. I say I'm just grateful today because I paid a visit to Lois ' room yesterday afternoon and to Bill's in the evening. Inshaillah, I'll do the same today.
Am on a visit wait right now. A delayed wait. Tuff stuff. |

I've officially been a friend of Bill and Bob for about three months now, although I was their unoffical friend for two years prior to leaving Saudi Arabia this past July. Why did I become their friend when I seemed to be doing OK on my own? Well, that question was a no-brainer for me - I mean, maybe I didn't need their friendship, BUT it certainly couldn't hurt. And there are NO guarantees that I could manage to get through the rest of my life without it. I've been going to a daily meeting since my return to the States, and I have no doubts that my having done so is one of the wisest choices I've ever made. I particularly like three things I've heard in that time:
1. Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it's thinking of yourself less.
2. You can be just a crazy sober as you were drunk, you'll just remember it the next day.
and, of course,
3. You have to give it away in order to keep it .
Regards.

Dear guest of Japan,
Then you're either a very fortunate guy - or you haven't hit bottom yet.
Bill and Bob are the two founders of AA - Whoops, there goes my anonymity.
Regards,
John
P.S. You could have asked your rubber ducky. She'd have known. |

Forgive me. It's hard to type and chew on my toes at the same time. I really should have consulted ducky before typing that one. Carry on. |
