Well, if it's the one I'm thinking of, it's located in Santa Catarina, which means most of the students will be coming from San Pedro, one of Latin America's wealthiest sectors, and a haven of overly-entitled, very badly-behaved children. I actually have acquaintances who grew up in "Saint Peter", and...yeah, these particular individuals are not the most agreeable members of society, as they expect everything to be done their way, and get quite cranky (as adults!) when even the smallest things don't go their way. Obviously, that is a stereotype but I'm just making sure you understand the realities among the wealthy kids here in Mexico. Unless you have previous experience working with the particularly outrageous behavior of extremely well-to-do Mexican children, I don't know if it would be the most enjoyable first step. I've loved teaching kids in other parts of the world, but after a year in Cumbres (a sector not even as prestigious as San Pedro), I am ready to do something far less aggravating.
However, if you're sure you're up for private primary school in Mexico, then AIM is probably going to rank in the upper 15-20% in Monterrey as far as pay and resources available. It seems that at this level, most schools are extremely similar in terms of structure, teacher expectations (very demanding!), and general atmosphere. AIM would definitely be a very classic experience in upper-crust primary teaching in Mexico. |

Well, that helps........thank you.
I'm not sure if I am up for teaching a band of unruly brats. I enjoying teaching, but not that much.
However, I guess it depends on how much support one would receive from the school, in regards to student behavior, discipline, etc.
I am the the type of teacher as to lay down the law the first day, start hard yet fair. I enjoy having fun with my kids, and having them laugh/learn. But, I don't tolerate spoiled children who know they can get away with anything in the classroom because they know they can get away with it.
