Hello, everyone!
I have a question for those of you living and teaching in BA: how did you find a place to live that you can afford on a teaching salary? I have been in BA for two weeks, and while it only took me a few days to find work, it is proving much more difficult to find living accomodations! I have looked in the papers (herald and la nacion) and on the online sites (craigslist, compartodepto, metroroommates, pretty much anything that came up in a google!) Most of the things I find are either not conveniently located or well above my budget (aimed at tourists) I would like to live with roommates, but I dont know anyone in BA (I am still living in a hostel, where the friends I make are just passing through). When I lived in Central America, I could go to the grocery store, bookstore, or pulperia and get phone numbers of places for rent, but I have noticed that this is not the case here. Does anyone have any advice? I have been actively looking for two weeks, and I am starting to get discouraged.
Thanks for any help you can provide!

It is easy to get discouraged but there are some good apartments in BA. I found my place on Craigslist and I am renting privately. It did take a week of searching to finally find something I like. Its usually cheaper to go through an individual rather than a agency, thus you avoid paying a commission on top of paying rent. Make sure the apartment you rent is all inclusive so you don't have to worry about paying bills. Honestly, you either have to increase the price of what you are willing to pay for an apartment or lower your standards of living.
