Hello Everyone,
We all know that a diploma is necessary to get some types of
visas. How about a copy certified by a notary public or something like
that? Before leaving for Japan, I told a former professor about my new
job. She has travelled and worked many places, such as a few countries
in southern Europe as well as many countries in Central and South
America (like all of them). She suggested that I have notarized copies
of my diploma made. Does anyone have any experience submitting
a notarized copy of his/her diploma instead of the geniune article?
Thanks,
Chris |

The original is always better.. A nortorized copy is useless in korea or taiwan but japan i dont know for sure.. I'm sure probably it is useless. Most schools ask for the original so it is always best to just have that.. You can always nortorize one and bring it with you just for sake. |

I've never heard of notorized copies. What are they exactly?
In Japan, a Brit I know got through the visa process with a cert that was not a degree but immigration thought it was. Conversely, a Filipino applying for the same job with an MA was not allowed a fax or photocopy of her MA cert but had to have the original which caused all sorts of hassle.
It might therefore depend on where you are coming from. |
