I would appreciate any suggestions for obtaining tutoring/teaching experience on a part-time basis.

Here are some ideas I have so far:
- Posting my own ad through the internet/newspaper
- Going to my university's ESL department and get paired with a student that requires additional help
- Applying to local language schools

I don't have my degree (3rd year English), so I doubt I would be able to get any work at the language schools yet. I am interested in working with the university's ESL department but it would not be for pay, and they said it would be difficult to match me with someone until September.

I'd prefer something with pay, but if it's good experience, I am willing to volunteer. I need hours for my application to the teacher education program next year. I am in the process of changing careers so I do not have any tutoring experience in the past 6 years (other than computer training within my soon to be former field!)

Thank you so much for any suggestions!

Might help others if they knew where you lived.

If you did something like this, would it count as anything on a resume for a school overseas, like in asia?
