Hey Folks
Wondering if anyone can help me out with camping recommendations in Kyushu? I'm specifically looking for something on Sakurajima and the Ibusuki areas in Kagoshima, as well as one reasonably near to Nagasaki. I have a line on a few good sites on Yakushima, but would welcome any advice from folks who have stayed there before.
Any other MUST SEE recommendations are welcome...so far I'll be camping at Kurokawa in Kagoshima, and then 3 days on Yakushima. |

Kirishima national park in Kagoshima is a great place to camp. I stayed there in a log cabin with friends a few years back. We were planning on going to Yakushima but high waves meant the ferry was cancelled. I've heard Yakushima is amazing though.
I'd also look into camping around Mount Aso in Kumamoto.
