I would really appreciate some feed back on this job offer. I would like to know if it sounds like a good deal and if anyone has heard about the company (good or bad).
Here are the details:
1 year contract
Free furnished apartment with cable TV and internet in Ho Chi Minh City and 20 hours a week guaranteed, $1000.00/mo USD, Cost of visa covered, and airport pickup.
Thanks |

Thanks really appreciate your input. I did think it sounded "too good to be true" (eg. all the extras)
What is a good salary to consider?? |

One more question if you don't mind.
When do schools start advertising for jobs. I have been looking for a month and haven't found anything good.
I have a feeling that it is better to be in Vietnam to look for a job than trying to find one online before you get there.
Just getting a little frustrated and may end up in Taiwan with a sure thing.
Thanks again |

As Jerry noted, a vast majority of schools do not hire over the internet (paid adverts anyway) and the ones that do are usually hurting from teachers due to high turnover. I don't really signing any contract anywhere teaching in Vietnam as it puts you at a serious disadvantage in negotiating. Most everyone here already knows about VATC and would rather put up with less hassle than that place dumps on teachers regularly. Much better pay to be found elsewhere and less headaches too. |
