Hi all,
I'm a newbie, and have wanted to teach in Buenos ever since I got my Bachelors degree last June. I finally decided to go ahead and do it, and have just finished my TEFL courses. My flight leaves April 5th, and although I am not planning on working right when I get there, I am starting to get a bit worried that will not be able to find work since I am arriving at such an odd time during the school year.
From what I've heard, it sounds like most of Latin America is pretty relaxed, and you can sort of work as you travel... but am I going to be able to find any sort of work at this time? I'm sure I can find some freelance jobs here and there, but as far as the schools go, am I totally out of luck?
If anyone has exprience with this or can give me some pointers I'd really appreciate it!!
Thanks in advance! |

Hi, I've got the same question...except that I won't be arriving until Sept. I think I'm qualified enough. I've got a BA, TEFL cert (if that counts for anything) and a year and a half teaching experience, but I'm afraid there'll be no work to be had when I arrive. |

Peak hiring season here is in February, March and some schools hire in April as well.. So you should be fine..
September is in the middle of the year but there are always schools looking for replacements to fill in right away, so you may be lucky..

I have a similar question....I will be coming to BA in July or August. Is there a time when they hire for second semester? Thanks in advance! |

Not that I know of...
You can just email the schools or show up in person..
