Hello
I am hoping to land a position for teaching either Business or Health as I have two master's degrees.
Further, I like to work. I am hoping to work during the day at HCT and then do extra work in the evenings or on weekends. Is this possible?
Does anyone have any idea what the salaries are in the business departments at HCT?
Are there lots of extra jobs in Dubai such as corporate training and so on?
Any help would be appreciated. |

Contractually, you will have to get an NOC from the HCT. Specifically, under Article 15 of the standard contract, "Not engage in any other position for gain or accept any office or positions or business without obtaining a No Objection Certificate from the HCT". But, in reality, I wonder how many people actually see this as a barrier to extra bucks!

Be aware your teaching schedule may include evenings at HCT.
As the previous poster said, your contract will prohibit you from working for anyone else - however, in practice, if you can keep under the radar, you may be able to work elsewhere. This is easier said than done, but the odds of doing so in Dubai (as opposed to RAK or Fujairah) are probably better.
Some have done so and been successful, others have been "caught" and told they must immediately cease and desist or they will lose their job at HCT. Depending on how much in demand you are at HCT, you may also be dismissed or not renewed.
Working at HCT will most likely take a lot of your time, especially at DWC where instructors are expected to put in long hours. |

Why don't you apply for jobs at Zayed University? Permission is usually given for faculty to work elsewhere for a limited number of hours per week. |

If you work at a college with a Continuing Education department, you may well be able to get extra hours teaching for the HCT in the evenings (or mornings, if your regular work is pm). |
