Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has heard of or been to Dubravushka boarding school or the town of Obnisk? I've been contacted about a job at the school but I'd like an independent opinion.
Any info is most welcome, thanks

This school used to advertise for teachers several years ago offering full board meals and accomodation but in return for a minimal salary which started around $200 per month, which is effectively just pocket money which a teenager would frown on!Recently they up'd it to about $800 per month and I think the recruiting is now being managed by someone else, possibly LanguageLink!
I have never worked there but the location is definitely much nicer than many Moscow suburbs and satellite towns, although not too remote for occasional visits etc.Taking such a position is really an immersion experience into Russian life and culture etc. rather than a way of going to Russia to make money by teaching in-company and private lessons in Moscow etc. However from my own experience, anything to do with Russia must be treated with caution and any doubts or queries should be ironed out before accepting a position...if something doesn't seem right,it probably isn't!Better still, try to make contact with somone who has either taught there or still does, preferably an expat as it's not an easy place to find an alternative job if it does turn out wrong!Forewarned is forearmed! |

maruss thanks for the info,
It's nice to get another opinion about the place and city (independent), I'm already working on talking to their other EFL teacher and the other details seem on par with other jobs.
again, thanks |
