Any reccomendations?
I read Fodors, Rick Steves, Lonely Planet etc. Any other ideas? Maybe a good novel or two set in modern China? Just want to get a grasp of the country.
Thanks- |

Hey! I see you are from Tampa; I am from Clearwater but now teaching in China and soon to be moving to Malaysia. You likely should move this to the China forum. Lots of good info there. Anyway, I teach Chinese history at an international school, and I think that a book called Revolution and its Past by R Keith Schoppa is the best, and easiest to digest, of all the overviews of modern China I have read. Check it out for a nice idea of why China is the way it is. |
