|
|
I am having a phone interview on Tuesday for one of the National Plus schools who have found my CV acceptable. I've already sent a preliminary list of questions to them about the position, (asking about the school, their philosophy, the hours, etc.) on the instruction that they will be answered before the Tuesday interview.
That said,
What are some questions that I should be expecting? Were any of you who have done these interviews caught off guard by any questions that were asked of you?
I know the process is EXTREMELY different from that in the United States (or Europe and Australia for that matter), as I've been asked on more than one occasion what my religious beliefs are and whether or not I am married!
My many thanks to anyone who can offer me some advice!

I had a phone interview in 2004 before I moved here and found it quite easy and not intimidating at all. I guess not having to make eye contact and being in the comfort of your home probably helps. I wasn't asked very much at all but EF would be a far different story than Nat plus which you are going for.
Religion is a big thing and you may find the school is actually christian and if so they will ask what church you belong to etc. Women will usually get asked about marriage and married women are frowned upon generally.
Mostly though you will be asked about teaching experience and qualifications. Funny though I have yet to have any school check these out.
