|

Hello all!
I'm planning ahead, and so far have determined that I want to start my tefl career in Prague, Sept 2009.
I have a potential stop gap job lined up until then, which would be very handy, however I need to tell them exactly when I can work until. Are the majority of jobs available at the beginning of Sept, or at the end? If it is at the end, I'm contemplating taking the CELTA in Prague, at Akcent IH - since the course appears to run end of July to end of Sept.
Thanks!

EDIT: I meant to say that if the work is more prevalent at the beginning of Sept, then I will take the course at Akcent. I missed out August in my initial thinking! (I'm on holiday this August, perhaps that's why!) The course runs from the end of July to end of Aug, which would be ideal for a beginning of Sept start.
I have nearly answered my own question, but some clarification about timings would still be appreciated.
Thanks.

Early September, or even late August, is the best time to job-search. Contracts usually start early to mid Sept. |

Hi davidmeta!
Yes, there is teaching work available all year in Prague but September is THE month for the majority or teaching positions offered.
Early September is usually still a bit sleepy from the summer holiday period but schools are definitely back and hiring from late August and new classes are beginning throughout September and early October.
This means that taking your course in either August or September will ensure that you make it in for the high season period for jobs available.
All the best!

I'm wondering if there is a "best time of year" to find an apartment too? |
