The Mexico City branch of MEXTESOL is holding its 19th annual Regional Convention here on June 21. It's an all-day affair, running from 9 am to 7 pm and will take place at EBC in Colonia Jurez, where Reforma and Insurgents meet. The registration fee is 250 pesos. For more complete information, check out the DF MEXTESOL website: www.dfmextesol.org.mx.

I am somewhat disappointed with this organization. When I went on their website after you recommended it several months ago, I did so with the intention of getting involved but the information that was on their site was scanty, so I emailed the contact person with some followup questions. I never received a response.
I will of course try again, but unless they get their act together it`s a waste.

It's too bad they never got back to you on-line. I advise just calling the office if you have any specific questions.

I wouldnt write off MexTESOL so quickly. They put me through heck writing an article for their journal, which hopefully will be printed this summer. However, like most organizations, you have only a handful that do 80% of the work, so a lot of details get skipped.

*tooting my own horn alert* Guess who is presenting at this conference? Wink

Oooooo! About wikis? I might have to come.

To geaaronson and anyone else, keep in mind that the people running MEXTESOL do so in their free time ON TOP of their regular jobs and family lives.

Actually, the people running the office in Mexico City are paid staff members, though it's true that there are only four of them, and one of them (a good friend of mine and the person who put thelmadatter's article through the editing wringer) works there only part time.

Yup.. its about my wikipedia-based class last fall. MELEE, if you decide to come up I got crash space for ya (in my swanky bachelorette pad!)

Uli did put me through the wringer but I cant complain... he also put in a hell of a lot of time with me working on it. Not to mention apologizing for the wringer treatment! Laughing
