Have you done a search? I know that there has been some discussion on Ibra. It is off the beaten track.
Isn't housing provided by the contract?

Ibra is a small village. There is a technical college with unmotivated sweet students. There is no VISA or MASTERCARD accepting stores, internet is a headache. It is a remote place in between mountains. Teachers over there mostly say 6 month period is a long period to work. Good luck. |

you have two different postings for the same place. Housing is provided by the ministry if you can be patient enough to live in ibra. good luck. |

Ibra is about 90 minutes outside of Muscat. When I regularly drove through it, I noticed that the heart of town surrounds the Shell Station, which should tell you something. Housing appeared attractive, but the housing I spotted were handsome villas out in the middle of nothing else.
I made a few acquaintances from the College you mention and they usually drove to Sur for fun on the weekends, which REALLY should tell you something. |

Excuse the delay.
Sorry. I didn't intend to seem cryptic about Ibra. It is far away from the sort of central activity you would find in Muscat. Ibra is isolated by about 90 minutes from either Sur or Muscat.
Muscat is great and accessible from Ibra if you have transportation. Since Ibra is flat and not near the sea, some people go to Sur on weekends (seaside and beach). Sur has a cinema, and two hotels where you can eat out and have some drinks if you like, whereas, I hear, that Ibra does not
When I drove through Sur, I noticed that it seemed to be less scenic than some other towns, but that I found the housing more attractive than what I saw in Sur. |
