Has anyone had any experience with this college, and/or does it really exist?
I would appreciate any information, thank you.

I've been in KL for almost two years and I've never heard of it. I'd avoid it.

A "school" that won't pay for your work permit is probably operating out of a low rent apartment. |

There is a Cosmopoint group of colleges nationwide; i.e., branches in KL, Johor, Penang, Melaka, Kuantan, and elsewhere. They are legitimate and always hiring, which usually means there is serious turnover due to .... ?
But, yes, Dosmopoint is a scam making a play on the Cosmopoint name.

Actually, not all that many private colleges will pay for the work visa. Some will deduct from your pay check; some will pay for it outright. But, of course, don't fall for a pay-us-for-the-work-permit-before-you-come-to-work scam. Once you sign a contract and begin they will deduct from the first few months' paychecks.

Dear ,
The management wish to inform you that your application have been given due consideration and attached to this mail is the letter of offer and agreement form which you are to read through carefully, sign it and scan it back to us for office record.
The processing of your working permit will commence immediately, the processing fee is $250 US DOLLARS which will be paid by you, this is due to the college policy as we have encountered many problems with foreign teachers, after we process their working permit with the college fee, they will not show up to our college and this result in the college wasting lots of money on that.
We hope that your experience in teaching will enhance and improve the skills of our foreign students. You must be in malaysia not less than 1 month from the date this letter of offer is given.
Awaiting your response,
Mr Paul.

and the banking details please. I am willing to wire the funds to you a.s.a.p
Fake:Dear ,
Though am about to close office when i receive your mail.I want you to know that we are having a problem with the college bank account right now because some foreign students claims that they send money to our account,so the account is been investigated and pending when the problem will be settled.
To send the money by WESTERN UNION MONEY TRANSFER is very easy, maybe your bank might not have it so i have download the banks in southkorea that can assist you in sending the money as soon as possible.
Below are the banks you can choose from and you can see the one that is located nearer to you, just walk in there and tell them you want to transfer money using WESTERN UNION MONEY TRANSFER to malaysia and give them the name has given to you by the secretary.

Me:Good news
I got a flight back home and a change over in KL so that means I have time spend in your home town and will take a taxi or some transport to get to your address in next week. I will have the opportunity to meet you face to face next weeek and pay your money to you. This will afford me the opportunity for asking questions and familiarise myself with the college. I have friends in Singapore that will meet up with me to guide me to you college in KL.
This is the best possible means to secure your money and satisfy my curiosity about the college and meet my future employers. Wish me luck as I will see you face to face next Tuesday. I am glad things is working out for me and my current employer understand in letting me leave sooner then I expected.
Looking forward to meeting you
Fake:Dear ,
I was just reading your mail now.Welli want you to know that there is no time for us to waste as the management said that we would not be able to process and submit to the immigration between today and tommorrow, the application will be considered void and cancel.
Coming to see the college does not implies anything because is what you will see even before you start working with us.So,am very sorry to inform you that the management has been waiting all this week to start the processing of your working permit but since you wont be able to send the money today or latest by tommorrow, its better you drop the application.
I would advise you that its better you send the fee and later when you come around we can meet because time is not on the management side to wait for someone just because of processing working permit.
Best Regards,
Mr Paul. |

Hi All,
Yes, I also played along ... I decided it was a scam pretty much at the beginning...and scammed back...as my post here remained unanswered for a while....
...I also saw the Cosompoint school and figured they had ripped off the word by putting a "D" in it...
...as soon as I saw the name Mr. Paul and and email address of "PaulJames" it seemed to me he wanted to sound British or Western but kept using Mr. with the Paul.
Also, when they wanted me to fill out a questionnaire I knew it was a hoax ...to make them look like a serious place. This happened to me with a so-called international school in Greece... a great scam ...after making you jump hoops, they tell you have been selected and to send them money to buy the air ticket!! hahhaha! Teachers just can't be trusted you know and so the money for the air ticket sent to them would satisfy that the teacher was serious....
Safrica,
Nice scam back, going to meet them! |

The website's bloody good, though, isn't it?
Waitaminute....copy and paste any section into google, and gosh I'll be damned, it's copied word perfect from some other place called IQEA. That's twice now this scam has happened in KL. A few unfortunates mustve parted with cash first time round or this scammer would never have bothered trying again.

Yes, the website looks bloody good...but that was fishy to me...and no real photos of real life people... it looked so sterile...I thought it was a hoax.
It the back and forth, he could not tell me about the courses I would be teaching. |

Safrica and Namdak, I like your sparring with Dosmopoint, nice job. Clearly the poor English and grammar makes me think of the typical African scammers. In fact, I got an email last week from a young lady in Cote d'Ivoire who wanted to take me into strictest confidence regarding money her late father left her, and which needed my assistance in moving out of the country.
