I am moving to HCMC next month and am planning on continuing by BA while there via on-line courses. However I have some questions about getting my books and high-speed internet....

- If I order my textbooks on-line via amazon or my university bookstore will I actually get them? Will customs hold them for a long time? (I have read some stuff about it being very difficult to bring books into Vietnam.) Would I be better off to have them sent to a friend at home in Canada and then forwarded to me as a gift?

- How fast are the internet connections in homes and in internet cafes? Is it high-speed or dial up? Do you think it's fast enough that I'll be able to do on-line timed exams or will I get screwed because of slow connections?

I would love to hear from anyone who has info to offer or even better someone who has done on-line university courses while living in Vietnam. Thanks a million!

Kate
