The Court of Peeves, Crotchets & Irks opens its vernal assizes with a motion from Tom Tinker of Olympia, Wash. He is irked, as well he might be, by reflexive pronouns. He moves to abolish them.

Good article. Most of the "peeve" seems to be about the misuse of reflexives rather than the "correct" use.
But I'm not too fond of reflexive pronouns myself.

Hence the reference to "peeves, crochets and irks."
