I am hoping to find a teaching job in Kuwait.
Assuming I achieve this, will I have problems with the authorities if I arrive in Kuwait with:
sun cream
fungicide cream
aqueous cream
asprin
kaolin and morphine?
If necessary, can I get clearance to take things in by going to the Kuwati Embassy in London? |

a more useful reply is unless they find the xray of a bottle of booze in your luggage, they in 99.9% of the time would not search your bags
even if they did, if it were a small amount in a vitamin bottle, and they asked what is it and you said anything but 'morphine, you know, like heroin' they'd give you the pass |

Kaolin and morphine is a combination medicine, mixed along with sodium bicarbonate taken in oral liquid form for diarrhoea.
It belongs to the group of " antimolity" drugs and is usually prescribed along with rehydration salts.
It can be prescribed by a doctor or bought from a pharmacy - I doubt you would need to carry it with you, nor the other things on your list. |

Since all of the medications (or types of medications) are available in Kuwait, you do not need to bring them from outside, buy them here. |

Are you sure about this, Fred? I was in Kuwait from 1998 until 2001 and was informed by a pharmacist and a doctor that the codeine phosphate I take was ''unavailable'' in Kuwait. I used to pick it up in the UK or Spain and walk through customs with it in my pocket. |

I was referring to the list of medications in the original message. I have no idea whether or not a Doctor could prescribe the medicine you mentioned. You are able to purchase a wide range of medications over the counter.
Anyone coming to work here needing a particular medication would be well advised to have someone check out its availablity. |

Codeine is not available in Saudi Arabia becasue of the problems experienced with habituation/addiction. Kuwait might be the same. |

Codeine WAS available in both Saudi Arabia and Kuwait within the past 2 years. You could buy it as Paracetamol (500mg) and Codeine (8mg) under the brand name Solpadine (not sure of the spelling!). It was sold from behind the counter the same way you purchase it in the UK. If you need higher doses of Codeine you would have to bring it in with you. I don't think you can get higher doses anywhere without a doctor's prescription and not at all in Saudi or Kuwait. |
