Greetings,

I've seen a blank contract for a school in Taiwan which prohibits the teacher from working for another employer but which does not require the school to provide the teacher with a minimum number of hours or a minimum monthly pay. That strikes me as a contract I wouldn't be terribly comfortable signing ... unless it's a standard contract for Taiwan and it's rare for teachers to have difficulties getting enough hours to make ends meet.

Is this sort of contract standard in Taiwan's EFL business? Anyone out there signed something similar and wish you hadn't?

Thanks for any replies.

A standard contract should have both. The contracts I give my teachers do.
