I am really keen to hear from people who have been interviewed by the British council. They're application form is quite unique in the TEFL world so I was wondering whether their interview process was as well. It would be great if you could answer the following questions;
What was the interview process like?
What sort of questions did they ask?
How difficult an interview was it? Why?
How should someone prepare for a BC interview?
Much appreciated, thanks

Standard procedure is to ask the candidate to explain the difference between "their" and "they're". |

I had a telephone interview with the BC last week - no news as yet on the outcome. The questions were very closely related to the competencies I had already addressed in the written application, which made things clear enough.
However the thing that frustrated me somewhat was that there seemed to be little or no effort made to adjust the focus of the question to my particular circumstances/experience/information provided on my application - it seemed very automated. This meant that in answering some questions I was forced to try and recall details of what I'd done several years back instead of being able to use examples from recent experience.
I would be really interested to hear about other people's experiences with BC interviews... |
