Hello all!
I'm wondering if anyone can provide any updated information on the current situation at Sharjah Women's College. I know there is info in many other threads, which I've read, but the latest on specifics is a year old. That said, I'm looking for the following info:
- travel time from housing to campus
- the "tone" of the campus...i.e. is it a tense working environment
- best school for children
- can i drop children off at school, AND get to work within a reasonable time frame? (within an hour/hour and a half)
Anyway, just want to make an educated decision regarding my options. If you can provide any help, I am grateful. |

Here's my take on your questions.

depends where you are, on the corniche takes up to an hour given the traffic chaos in rush hours. If you live on or around the Airport road, 10 to 25 minutes.

I think enough posters have indicated Sharjah colleges has a local management run by a longstanding director, which seems to alienate most of its staff, (with a higher than average turnover) so I would say YES, but then again if you keep your head down then management issues can pass you by but he does like VERY LONG staff meetings!!

Maybe Sharjah English School but there's an infinite variety!

Probably yes, but driving around Sharjah in school rush hours is no fun whatsoever. I believe SES is closer to Sharjah Colleges and University city than it used to be so this may be logistically easier now
Hope this helps! |

Thanks for your response. Yes, many people have posted about management issues, but I wasn't sure if these issues were still happening. I'll look into the school you've suggested as well.
Thanks again! |

SES is on the edge of University City, right under the power lines. |
