Has anyone here studied at Spanish Universities - All info welcome. Personally, I'm interested in a studying for a Masters. Does anyone have any thoughts, experiences, opinions on the wisdom or otherwise of such a move? I'm not specifically looking at EFL, but if someone does have information about Masters to do with education, I'm sure it would be relevant to the people on the forum.

Thanks....

There are a lot of different issues to consider. For instance what course are you planning to pursue and why do you wish to pursue it in Spain?

You might want to give Salamanca a look. I think it is the oldest University in Spain.

I just finished a walking trip from Extremadura to Galicia. All of the major cities along the route seemed to have good Universities and to be nice places to live. Then there are always places in Madrid or Barcelona if you want to do the expat scene.

NB It gets HOT in Spain.

Not trying to hijack the thread but, though I'm from Australia, I'm not a huge fan of hot weather. Which parts of Spain get least hot?

To the OP, are you planning on studying in the Spanish language?

Which parts get least hot.... Haw! Haw! Haw! I guess you mean during the summer because it can be brass monkey cold in the winter anywhere north of Andalucia.

I guess if you get on the beach at San Sebastian with a stiff inshore breeze then it wouldn't be considered exactly hot. That's along the northern coast.

Then there were some guys who froze to death in the Gredos because they didn't realize it could be hot down below and freezing up on the heights. Other than that between May and September you can pretty much expect heat everywhere.

Yeah.. I'm not fussy which language the courses are in... as long as it isn't Basque!! (not that I've got anything against Euskera - just a little bit tricky to pick up...)

Personally being from London, somewhere hot is kinda on my list of priorities... (grass greener, etc....)

If you want it hot ...short of Rajastan .. Seville would be hard to beat and they have a big university where they like to teach Spanish to foreigners next to the Cathedral.
