| I'm looking to buy a used 2005/2006 compact SUV in KSA (CR-V, Outlander, Murano, Pathfinder, RAV4, Jeep, etc.). Are there online classifieds or listings? |

Check this:
http://www.expatriates.com/classifieds/saudi/forsale/
A JEEP WITHOUT A SCRATCH (GALLOPER -4 WD, 1999)
PRICE 28,000 (negotiable)
Owner: Australian!

I think the price is little bit high for 1999 Gallloper!

The answer is obvious and known to all who are in the gulf - not just Saudi, but all of the Gulf. They tend to not take care of their cars... and that is massive understatement... too many of them just run them into the ground... ignoring such niceties as oil changes.
As a Western woman, it never took me more than one day to sell my cars in the Gulf... for good reason.

| PM in Saudi Arabia only means evening/night. Preventive maintenance is , quite literally, a foreign concept. |

Same case as in Qatar. Don't buy cars from Qatar. I try to buy from other expats. Locals just don't know how to care for cars. They'll spend a long time arranging their shamag or ghoutra and making sure their thob is whiter than snow. But they won't bother spending a few minutes to change the oil.
I'm selling my VW Beetle here. I'm trying to convince my wife to meet people who respond to my For Sale car ads. I hope that the buyer will be more willing to give her a better price. I'm going to hide in the bushes and watch the meeting. I'll come leaping out if the buyer tries any funny business with my wife. |

Baedaebook, you are not a good seller!
Be careful with your tactics! You might lose both your VW Beetle and your wife! |

1) Locals abuse their cars, esp the young ones
2) When they sell them, they will lie about the condition, accidents the car might have been in, etc
3) Buy used from an expat, or from any one who can provide you with the full history and maintenance/repair documents since purchase
4) Or buy used from the dealerships, as they come with all history and are in good condition and not too old, and also a warranty |

007....Just kiddin'! I've always met potential buyers in nearby mall parking lots. SO far...no buyers.
In the spirit of honesty & integrity, it would be honest to replace the transmission in my Beetle and not try to sell and hoping the buyer doesn't notice the half-broken transmission. |

Well, in the magic kingdom the word for 'car abuse' by the young locals is known as Tafhit or (Drifting), and here is a real video shot of tafhit in the magic kingdom.........
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/Drifting-or-Tafhit-like-it-is-named-in-Saudi-Ara_15328.htm
It seems they are not only crazy, they are suicidal pedalphelia!
So, baedaebok, forget about good driving in the magic kingdom, you will expect the unexpected! |
