Do many language schools in Japan offer opportunities to teach in e-learning programs? I seem to remember one school that offered online courses via webcam - the teacher would be in Tokyo but the students could be anywhere in Japan. Are there many unique opportunities like these for English teachers? What about advanced positions developing or managing e-learning tools? |

E-learning, as in the webcam opportunities you mentioned (the old NOVA multi-media program, for example), or e-learning as in Internet web sites that afford various activities for self-study? I prefer to call e-learning the latter.
In either case, the answer is no, not many. Hardly any as far as I know.
E-learning (as I call it) is a hit and miss thing that mainstream schools buy and install in their CALL rooms or LL labs. Sadly, they are often chosen by administrators, not teachers, and are selected a lot on the basis of simple cost, not utility. |

There are some e-learning programs based in Tokyo (you see ads for them sometimes on gaijinpot). You generally work out of your home though.
There are also some international English schools on the net that provide live instruction. |
