Is anyone able to give me an opinion on working for this company?

I have been offered a rotational job in the Libyan desert at an oil installation but, before deciding, prefer to find out a little more about the location, camp conditions, security and Kortag's reputation generally.

All opinion gratefully received. Cool

I'm in Libya and I've never heard of Kortag. Where in the desert will you be based as different concessions are run by different companies? The big companies in Libya are Sirte Oil, Zuetina, Veba, Eni, Schlumberger, Shell, Woodside, Ras Lanuff Oil Company,...all are in cahoots with NOC...........if you can tell me the name of the field, I might be able to find out for you.

What's the rotation...I'm on 42/21?

The offer is desultory, and the worst part is that they don't even pay for the return flights home (only 30 percent, according to the ad). This is a naked ripoff, because you can be guaranteed that they would have factored this into the contract with the parent oil company I would surmise that they are aiming to screw the last drops out of their hapless employees - and don't be surprised if salaries start getting paid late or not at all. They wouldn't be the first to do so, and certainly not the last. Those looking for serious rotational jobs would be well served to run their fingers a little further down the map of Africa, until conditions and pay in Libya start reflecting reality.....Caveat emptor!
